How It Works

The LiquidGlassNav utilizes an advanced SVG <filter> layer (feGaussianBlur + feColorMatrix) applied directly over a framer-motion layout projection. When the active state changes, the layout projection mathematically calculates the distance between the elements, and the SVG filter merges the pixels to create a true physics-based liquid morphing effect.

Usage Guide

1. Import the Component

Import the component into your React or Next.js page:

import { LiquidGlassNav } from "@/components/creative/liquid-glass-nav";

2. Implementation Example

Render the component and customize its behavior by passing props:

import { LiquidGlassNav } from "@/components/creative/liquid-glass-nav";

export default function Example() {
  return (
    <div className="w-full flex items-center justify-center p-8">
      <LiquidGlassNav
        items{/* value */}
        activeId="example"
        onChange="example"
      />
    </div>
  );
}
Performance Notes
  • Uses CSS hardware acceleration via GPU transform-binds.
  • Damped interpolation minimizes paint-redraw flashes.
  • Tree-shakable import: only compiles elements requested.
Accessibility Notes
  • Full keyboard focus-ring navigation support (`Tab`/`Shift+Tab`).
  • ARIA roles mapped correctly for assistive screen readers.
  • Respects `prefers-reduced-motion` system toggles.
